Final Results

May 6, 2025, BATTLE CREEK, MI – The Grand Rapids Community College men's golf team is headed back to the NJCAA Division II National Championships for the eighth consecutive season after finishing as the runner-up at the Region XII Championship held at Bedford Valley Golf Club.

The Raiders came out strong in Monday's opening rounds, carding a 603 (301-302) to take a commanding seven-stroke lead over Montcalm Community College heading into Tuesday's final round. But rainy conditions on the final day proved challenging, as GRCC shot a 314, while Montcalm surged ahead with a 303 to capture the regional title. Montcalm finished with a team score of 913, just edging out GRCC's 917 in the 13-team, 72-player field.

Despite the narrow defeat, the Raiders secured one of the coveted national qualifying spots and will compete in the NJCAA DII National Championships in Plymouth, Indiana, from May 20-23.

Sophomore standout Colin Beckett led the way for GRCC with a dominant individual performance, earning medalist honors by finishing first overall with a 214 (-2), eight strokes ahead of the second-place finisher. Beckett was especially impressive in the second round, firing a 67 (-5). He tallied a tournament-best 11 birdies and one eagle across three rounds.

Owen Rosendall also had a strong showing, placing fifth with a 230 (+14) and notching the second-most birdies in the tournament with nine. Zach Vaandrager tied for seventh at 233 (+17), giving the Raiders three All-Region honorees in Beckett, Rosendall, and Vaandrager.

Zach Steers tied for 16th with a 240 (+24), while Evan Kaiser tied for 35th at 249 (+33), rounding out GRCC's team scoring.
