Oct. 20, 2025, PETOSKEY, Mich. / NOTRE DAM, Ind. – Grand Rapids Community College athletics enjoyed another successful Monday, as the nationally ranked volleyball team stayed perfect in conference play and the men's golf team positioned itself near the top of the leaderboard at its final fall event.

Volleyball: No. 14 Raiders Sweep North Central Michigan to Stay Unbeaten in Conference

The No. 14-ranked GRCC volleyball team extended its win streak to 14 matches with a 3-0 (25-20, 25-17, 25-16) victory on the road at North Central Michigan College. The Raiders improved to 16-2 overall and 9-0 in the MCCAA Northern Conference, maintaining their perfect record in league play while winning their 15th straight set.

Despite a shaky start that featured a season-high seven service errors and 16 total miscues, GRCC managed to hold off the Timberwolves 25-20 in the opening set. Taylor Kik led the charge with six of the team's 14 kills while hitting an impressive .545.

The Raiders cleaned up their play in the second set, recording zero service errors and zero reception errors while tallying 17 kills. Kaylee Kranz powered the offense with six kills, helping GRCC roll to a 25-17 win.

In the third, the Raiders jumped ahead early and never looked back, leading by as many as 13 before closing out the sweep 25-16. Allie McGlothen and Kirstyn Lothschultz paced the attack with four kills each in the set.

The Raiders will look to stay hot on Thursday, October 24, when they host Alpena Community College — a team they swept earlier this season on the road.

Golf: Raiders in Second Place After Round One at the Saints Classic

Down in Notre Dame, Indiana, the No. 18-ranked GRCC men's golf team is off to a strong start at the Saints Classic, sitting in second place out of 11 teams after the opening round at Warren Golf Course.

The Raiders carded a team score of 312 (+28), just two strokes behind Saint Xavier University, while tallying 11 birdies as a group.
