SEPT. 29, 2026, SOUTH BEND, Ind. – The Grand Rapids Community College men's golf team finished fourth at the two-day, 36-hole Battle at Blackthorn, hosted at Blackthorn Golf Club in South Bend, Indiana.

The Raiders posted a two-round team score of 592 (+16) on the par-72 layout, finishing fourth in a field of nine teams and 49 golfers. GRCC and Mott Community College were the only two-year colleges competing in the tournament.

GRCC opened with a 301 (+13) in Monday's first round before improving by nine strokes to shoot 291 (+3) in Tuesday's final round.

Lucas VanMaanen led the Raiders individually, finishing tied for third at 142 (-2) after rounds of 71 and 71. VanMaanen's even-par final round helped the Raiders climb the leaderboard on the tournament's second day. He also recorded a team-best eight birdies over the 36-hole tournament.

Owen Kuehnau tied for eighth at 145 (+1) after shooting 71-74. Corralis Delaney finished at 152 (+8) with rounds of 78 and 74, while Carson Osborn posted a 153 (+9) with rounds of 81 and 72. Brody Cook rounded out the Raider lineup at 159 (+15) after rounds of 83 and 76.

The tournament victory went to Taylor at 564 (-12), followed by Bethel (IN) and MVNU, which tied for second at 589 (+13).

The tournament comes on the heels of another strong showing for the Raiders, with Delaney being named the conference Golfer of the Week earlier Tuesday for his performance during the previous week.

GRCC will return to action Monday, Oct. 5, at the St. Clair County Community College Invitational.
