SEPT. 21, 2026, GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Grand Rapids Community College golf team posted a strong runner-up finish at its host event, the GRCC 36 Invitational, held at The Mines Golf Club in Grand Rapids.

The Raiders finished tied for second in the 12-team field with a two-round team score of +44, matching Davenport University. Ferris State University won the team title at +24.

The 72-player field competed over 36 holes, with two rounds played on the par-70, 6,550-yard layout at The Mines Golf Club.

GRCC placed three golfers in the individual top 10, led by Corralis Delaney, who carded rounds of 72 and 75 for a two-round total of +7 and a tie for fourth place. Carson Osborn finished sixth at +8 after rounds of 76 and 72, while Lucas VanMaanen tied for seventh at +9 with rounds of 73 and 76.

The Raiders also received solid contributions throughout the lineup. Jackson Reum tied for 30th at +17 (77-80), followed by Brody Cook, who tied for 37th at +20 (81-79). Dan Jensen and Owen Kuehnau each finished tied for 40th at +21, with both players shooting 81-80.

Theo Oddy tied for 49th at +25 (87-78), while Ari Ziska tied for 54th at +27 (81-86). Nate Bowker finished 61st at +32 (87-85). Kael Mosburger and Landon Simpson tied for 68th at +54, with Mosburger shooting 98-96 and Simpson carding 93-101.

Ferris State's Colin Riehl claimed individual medalist honors, finishing at +1 with rounds of 72 and 69.

For first-year GRCC head coach Chris Sobieck, the tournament provided an opportunity for the Raiders to compete at home while measuring themselves against a strong field.

"I'm really proud of the way our guys competed this weekend," Sobieck said. "To finish tied for second in a strong 12-team field, with three guys in the top 10, shows the depth and potential this team has. Hosting the GRCC 36 Invitational at The Mines made it even more special, and I'm excited about the direction this group is heading as we continue to build throughout the season."
