Eleven Raiders Earn Postseason Honors as GRCC Basketball Programs Celebrate Standout Seasons

Peot and Bowman lead the way with All-Region honors

Mar. 11, 2026, GRAND RAPIDS, MI – Following successful 20-win seasons, a combined 11 players from the Grand Rapids Community College men's and women's basketball teams were recognized with postseason honors from the Michigan Community College Athletic Association (MCCAA), highlighting the depth of talent across both Raider programs.

The women's team, which finished 20-10 overall and second in the MCCAA Western Conference, had five sophomores honored for their standout play throughout the season.

Leading the way was Averi Peot (Sparta High School), who earned All-Region, All-MCCAA, First Team All-Conference, and Western Conference All-Defensive Team (second in voting) honors. Peot led the Raiders in field goal percentage (.528 – 6th in the MCCAA), three-point percentage (.400), rebounds (186), and blocks (39) while ranking second on the team in scoring (322 points, 10.7 ppg) and steals (68). She recorded three double-doubles and put together a memorable three-game scoring stretch with 25, 22, and a career-high 33 points on Feb. 6 vs. Lake Michigan College. Peot concluded her Raider career with 441 points, 293 rebounds, 112 steals, and 59 blocks.

Tianna Daye (Wyoming High School) earned Second Team All-Conference honors for the second consecutive season. She led GRCC in scoring (339 points, 11.7 ppg), free throw percentage (.723), and three-pointers made (53) while adding 60 steals. Daye scored a season-high 25 points against South Suburban College and finished her career with 702 points (12.5 ppg), 119 steals, 102 assists, and 232 rebounds.

Harmonie Belton (East Kentwood High School) was named Third Team All-Conference and Western Conference All-Defensive Team after leading the Raiders in assists (114 – 4th in the MCCAA) and steals (95 – 3rd in the MCCAA). She added 235 points and 118 rebounds, highlighted by a near triple-double on Feb. 4 vs. Kellogg, when she recorded 13 points, nine assists, and eight steals.

Sophia Wozniak (East Kentwood High School) received All-Conference Honorable Mention recognition. She finished third on the team in scoring (294 points) and rebounding (133) while scoring in double figures 15 times, including a season-high 23 points on Jan. 17 vs. Southwestern Michigan College.

Emma Picarazzi (Grand Rapids Catholic Central High School) also earned All-Conference Honorable Mention. She was the only Raider to start all 30 games, finishing second on the team in rebounds (153) and blocks (33) while adding 143 points and 55 assists. Her season high came with 13 points against Kellogg Community College on Feb. 4.

"Extremely proud of the effort put forth by our five that received honors. They each were deserving and it means a lot to know that they were recognized by the other coaches in the conference that voted for them," said head coach David Glazier.

On the men's side, the Raiders posted a 20-9 record and finished third in the conference, with six players receiving postseason recognition.

Freshman EJ Bowman (Waterford Mott High School) had a breakout season, earning All-Region, All-MCCAA, First Team All-Conference (third in voting), Western Conference All-Freshman Team, and Freshman of the Year honors. Bowman finished second on the team in scoring (395 points, 13.6 ppg) while leading the Raiders in assists (168 – 5.8 per game, 3rd in the MCCAA), three-pointers made (46), and steals (64 – 2.2 per game, 3rd in the MCCAA). He scored in double figures 17 times, including 27 points vs. Macomb on Nov. 29, and recorded five games with 10+ assists, highlighted by 15 vs. Owens on Nov. 30.

Sophomore Nate Keil (Lakeland High School, IN) earned Second Team All-Conference honors after leading the Raiders in scoring with 494 points (17.0 ppg). He also finished second in rebounding (168) while adding 70 assists and 29 steals. Keil scored in double figures in all but four games, including a season-high 31 points at Lake Michigan College on Feb. 2, and posted three double-doubles.

Matthew Richards (Byron Center High School) was named Third Team All-Conference after averaging a double-double with 13.8 points and 11.8 rebounds per game. His 11.8 rebounds per game ranked first in the MCCAA and among the top 10 nationally, and he closed the season with 10 consecutive double-doubles. Richards also shot a team-best .576 from the field and .764 from the free throw line, with a standout performance of 24 points and 25 rebounds vs. Glen Oaks on Feb. 18.

Sophomores Zeekeal Jackson (Wellspring Prep) and Tyran Thomas (Northview High School) both earned All-Conference Honorable Mention. Jackson averaged 14.1 points and 5.8 rebounds per game, shot .433 from three-point range (5th in the MCCAA) and .741 from the free throw line, and added 76 assists and 29 steals. Thomas contributed 11.7 points, 5.3 rebounds, 41 assists, and 21 steals per game.

Freshman Jared Demoff (Hartland, Mich.) was named to the Western Conference All-Defensive Team after leading the Raiders in blocks (36) and steals (30) while finishing third in total rebounds (151). He recorded a career-high five blocks against Kellogg on Feb. 4.

"It's great to see the honors roll in for these guys after a successful year. Having six players honored by the league really speaks to the depth of talent we had and the impact they had on the court," said head coach Joe Fox.
