Raiders Sweep Glen Oaks, Women Stay Second and Men Hold First in Conference

Women: 78-38; Men: 99-80

Feb. 18, 2026, CENTREVILLE, MI. – The Grand Rapids Community College basketball teams completed a conference road sweep Wednesday night over Glen Oaks Community College, as the women rolled 78–38 and the men followed with a 99–80 victory.

Women Dominate Early, Cruise to 21st Straight Over Vikings

The Raiders women improved to 19-8 overall and 8-3 in conference play, holding onto second place with one regular-season game remaining. The win also marked GRCC's 21st consecutive victory over Glen Oaks.

GRCC set the tone immediately, racing out to a 13-2 lead while hitting three of its first four shots from beyond the arc. The Raiders led 31-15 at halftime before erupting for 32 third-quarter points, shooting 68 percent from the field and 5-of-6 from three during the decisive stretch.

For the game, GRCC posted season highs of 46.9 percent shooting (30-64) and 46.2 percent from deep (12-26).

  • Sophia Wozniak led all scorers with 20 points on 7-of-11 shooting and added four rebounds.
  • Tianna Daye scored 18 points on 6-of-8 shooting, including 5-of-7 from three, while tying for the team lead with five rebounds and adding three assists and three steals.
  • Averi Peot finished with 11 points, five rebounds, a game-high four steals, and three assists.
  • Harmonie Belton contributed six points and a game-high six assists.

Men Pull Away After Halftime Behind Career Nights

The Raider men improved to 20-6 overall and 10-2 in conference play, remaining alone in first place with two games left in the regular season.

The first half featured six ties and multiple lead changes before GRCC closed on a 7-2 run to take a 44-39 halftime lead. The second half belonged entirely to the Raiders, who pushed their advantage to as many as 27 points.

Matt Richards and McRecco McFadden both turned in career performances. Richards recorded his seventh straight double-double by halftime with 15 points and 12 rebounds. The sophomore from Byron Center finished with a career-high 24 points and 25 rebounds on 10-of-16 shooting.

McFadden added a career-best 22 points on 8-of-14 shooting, along with five rebounds and three blocks. Nate Keil, facing his former team, scored 14 points with four rebounds and three assists. EJ Bowman, the reigning conference Player of the Week, dished a game-high 14 assists — his fifth game with at least 10 — and grabbed five rebounds.

Up Next

The Raider men return home Saturday, Feb. 21, to host Kalamazoo Valley Community College at 1 p.m. for Sophomore Day. The women are next in action Tuesday, Feb. 24, when both teams travel to Lansing for their conference and regular-season finales.
