Box Score The GRCC women's team traveled to Chicago this weekend for their last game of the 2018 season against the Kennedy-King Statesmen. Their trip was nothing but a major success as the team took complete domination and walked away with a 79-34 victory and push their record to 9-2 overall.
The Raiders were on fire and completely in the zone. The team had an unreal 3rd quarter racking up 27 points while the Statesmen only scored 2. Mya Jordan had herself a night by beating her previous season high of 26 points vs Delta. The 5-11 sophomore scored 27 points, 9 rebounds and had 4 steals. 3 other Raiders had double digit numbers. Hallee Breimayer scored 14 points, 8 rebounds, 7 assists and 3 steals. Madelynn Miller and Kenzie Omness both had 10 points. Miller added 9 rebounds, 8 assists and 4 steals while Omness had 7 rebounds and 4 blocks.
The Raiders were great for the 2018 part of the season outscoring their opponents 563 to 486, a 77 point spread. On more than one occasion the Raiders faced some adversity which put them in some close games. Finding a way to win in almost every case gives the team a great foundation heading into the 2019 part of the season. The Raiders will start the New Year and MCCAA Conference play at Mid Michigan College in Mt. Pleasant on January 3rd.
