Box Score Grand Rapids, MI. -- The Grand Rapids Community College Women's Basketball team defeated the Jets of Jackson College 70-60 on Wednesday(3/1) night, which qualifies them for the District G tournament. This was the Raiders last home game and regular season game of the year.
 
Makayla Beld recorded a double-double with 13 points and 14 rebounds. Claire Flewelling had 17 points, including five three pointers.Allazae Lloyd finished with 15 points, seven assists, and seven rebounds. Maddie Albert added 10 points.
 
The Raiders trailed Jackson 38-37 at halftime, but they came ready to play in the second half to finish out the game.
 
"They defended the way we talked about defending all year at least through the 1st quarter," said head coach Dave Glazier." "We were down 1 going into the half. We answered the bell by going on an 18-5 run in the third to put us up."
 
GRCC shot 44 percent from the field and 54 percent from three point range. GRCC also out rebounded Jackson 49-33.
 
Jackson only shot 34 percent from the field and just 27 percent from three point land.
 
"They jelled and coming in we had a good practice," said Glazier. "You could tell we were ready and came amp'd up. We came out ready in the second half again and finished."
 
The Raiders will face the #2 seeded Lake Michigan College on Tuesday, March 7 in the Region XII G quarterfinals at Lake Michigan College at 7:00 pm.
