GRCC Women's Basketball takes on Jackson College tonight at 5:30pm in Jackson

The Grand Rapids Community College women's basketball team is heading to Jackson College tonight (February 1) to play the Jets at 5:30 pm.
 
GRCC's overall record is 10-8 and they are 3-5 in conference. Jackson College is 8-10 overall and 6-5 in conference play.
 
GRCC is a young team full of all freshman and just one sophomore. The raiders are coming off a huge win against Mid Michigan Community College who is currently ranked 4th in the conference.
 
GRCC's freshman Forward/Center, Makayla Beld is putting up 11.9 ppg and grabbing 9.2 rebounds. Freshman forward, Emily Pendred adds 7.7 ppg, and leads the team in rebounding with 14.1 per game. Freshman guard Allazae Lloyd averages 10.1 ppg, 2.8 assists, and 3 steals.
 
Jackson's forward Chelsea Palmer averages 15 ppg and 8.8 rebounds as a freshman. Sophomore guard Kassidy Blough adds 12.6 ppg and 4.6 assists.
 
The raiders have an advantage in rebounding, averaging 49.8 rebounds per game, while Jackson College is only pulling down 31.4 rebounds per game. GRCC is also forcing their opponents to 19.9 turnovers per game. With rebounding and tough defense, the raiders are hopeful to come out with a win.
