Lansing, MI – Grand Rapids Community College’s women’s basketball team drops to 6-9 in conference play (8-16) following a 54-47 loss to the Lansing Community College’s Stars. The win leaves the Stars at 12-3 in the MCCAA West tied with Lake Michigan College for second.
Both GRCC and Lansing have secured a seed in the NJCAA District G Tournament for the opportunity to advance to the NJCAA Division II National Tournament.
Despite their better shooting and free throw percentages, GRCC had no match for Lansing’s dominance in the post. Lansing’s Stars grabbed 54 rebounds to GRCC’s 32. GRCC was limited to only 5 offensive rebounds throughout the contest.
GRCC was led by
Meghan Mitchell who finished the game with 7 points, nine rebounds, nine assists and three steals.
Danielle Harrison led the Raiders in scoring going 5-of-14 from the field and 5-of-6 from the line for 15 points total.
Kayla Rosinski finished with 14 points—12 in the second half shooting 4-of-4 from the line and 4-of-7 from the field in the second.
Lansing was led in scoring by Carli Reid and Robin Robinson. Reid finished the contest with 14 points and 13 rebounds. Robinson added fourteen points of her own with four rebounds and six assists.
The Raiders conclude their regular season with home game against 12-3 Lake Michigan College on February 27
th. The game starts at 5:30PM.
