Box Score Lansing, MI –GRCC’s men’s basketball team rests in second place in the MCCAA West following a 77-51 rout of Lansing Community College’s Stars on the road. The win is the Raiders sixth straight and leaves them with a 10-5 conference record.
Lansing, also 10-5 in MCCAA West play, drops to #3 in the West.
The Raiders came out firing on all cylinders jumping out to a 11 point first half lead as
Daryl White shot 3-of-3 from the field with one trey while hitting 2-of-2 from the line. White added four rebounds, four assists and one block to his first half stats.
Kevin Badger and
Alex Mustert were on the mark too each scoring just under 10 points in the first. GRCC shot .429 to Lansing’s .250 in the first while claiming 7 more rebounds than the Stars.
The second witnessed no mercy as GRCC laid on the points outscoring the Stars 39-24 for the 26 point upset win.
While struggling from the field shooting just 2-of-7 combined, Miles Robinson and Daryl White recorded 9 assists and four steals in the second half. Those dishes found the hot-handed duo of Deontae Hudson and Kevin Badger who combined for twenty-two points in the second half.
Badger finished the game with a team-high 23 points adding three steals and three assists.
Alex Mustert recorded his tenth double-double of the season shooting 6-of-14 for 13 points with 11 rebounds.
Deontae Hudson’s 13 point, 14 rebound double-double was his third of the season. Daryl White also put 13 points on the Stars while adding six rebounds and a staggering 9 assists.
Lansing was led by George Goodman and Devlin Bell. Goodman led the Stars in scoring with 14 points. Bell added 9 points while recording a team high 16 rebounds.
Both GRCC and Lansing have qualified for the NJCAA Division II District 9 Tournament.
GRCC closes their regular season with a home contest against Lake Michigan College on February 27
th. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30PM.
