High scoring Jackson Jets headed to GRCC

Grand Rapids, MI—Having just qualified for the post season, the women are playing at the top of their game. Although the post season has yet to begin, the women will get a taste of what they’re in store for on Wednesday afternoon when they host the Jets of Jackson Community College.

Lake Michigan boasts a record of 13-11, and the ladies are posting an average of 99 points per game, the most of any school in the division.

Leading the Jets is Freshmen Shaquanna Collins with an average of 12 points per game. Collins and her squad have gained a reputation for putting up massive numbers on opponents by utilizing a full court press. The Jets trounced GRCC in an early season bout by a score of 111-87.

Their record, however, proves the old adage that defense wins games. Despite averaging more points than anyone else in the country, the ladies have come up short on 11 occasions. The Raiders hope to make that 12.

The ladies take to the court on Wednesday at 5:30. The game will be held in the Gordon Hunsberger Arena at the Ford Fieldhouse.
