Plymouth, IN – GRCC’s women’s basketball team picks up their third straight win following a strong 55-38 showing over Ancilla College. With that win, the Raiders qualify for the NJCAA District 9 Tournament and have pulled themselves up from the bottom of the MCCAA West ranks to hold the fifth spot two games behind their next opponent Jackson Community College (8-4).
Leading the way for the Raiders was
Danielle Harrison Harrison shot 6-of-11 from the field and 3-of-4 from the line to finish with 15 points. She added three steals, and 10 rebounds before the night was through.
Alyssa VandenBerge led her team in rebounding with 11.
Libby Kwiatkowski added 11 points and
Danielle Goad added 12 more to give GRCC the decisive win.
Led by
Kaylia Richardson who finished the contest with 22 points and 17 rebounds, Ancilla’s Charger team fielded only five players. Richardson outscored the rest of her team by 5 points.
GRCC hosts Jackson Community College on Wednesday the 20
th at 5:30PM. Jackson, known for putting up big scores averaging 99 points per game—the highest in NJCAA DII--b eat the Raiders late in January 111-87.
Despite leading the NJCAA DII in 11 statistical categories Jackson has lost 11 games this season.
