Box Score Grand Rapids, MI—Grand Rapids Community College fought off Muskegon Community College’s Jayhawks to pull off a 92-86 win.  GRCC improves to 7-5 in conference and 14-8 overall.  The loss leaves MCC at 3-9 in MCCAA play with a 12-12 record overall.

Despite struggling in conference this season, MCC’s men’s team gave GRCC all the could handle last night.  GRCC’s season-long struggle from the free throw line continued again last night as the Raiders shot just 4-of-11 from the line in the first to MCC’s 3-of-3 giving the Jayhawks the 41-38 point advantage to start the second half.

Miles Robinson led the way for the Raiders in the second scoring 18 points.  Robinson was 4-of-6 from behind the arc and 4-of-4 from the line.

Muskegon’s Delvon Brown stepped up in the second posting 16 points with six rebounds.

While GRCC shot worse from the field in the second, they managed to go 20-of-32 from the line in the second allowing them to earn the 92-86 win as the Jayhawks continued to force the Raiders to earn their points at the line with 18 second half fouls.

GRCC was led in scoring by Miles Robinson with 24 total points.  Alex Mustert finished with 20, and Deontae Hudson finished with 15 and a team high 10 rebounds.
Kevin Badger led the Raiders in assists with 8.

Muskegon was led by Delvon Brown who finished with team highs in points and rebounds at 24 and 8 respectively.  Zach Leach added 17 points for the Jayhawks.

GRCC travels to Ancilla College on Saturday to face a struggling Charger team with a 2-10 MCCAA record.  Tip off for that contest is scheduled for 3:00PM
