Grand Rapids, Mich – Grand Rapids Community College's women's basketball team fell to the #9 Owens Community College Express 56-68.  The loss leaves the Raiders at 0-2 on the season while the Express improve to 5-1.

The Raiders took an early 12-7 lead in the opening minutes of play, but watched it slip away as the Express went up by nine points to close the first half.  The Express did not relent in the second half taking a 21 point lead.

GRCC went a scoring run late in the game closing that gap to within 12 points but could not hold on as the Express finished them off 68-56.

Danielle Harrison led the Raiders in scoring with 15 points while adding three blocks and seven rebounds.  Harrison was 6-of-7 from the field and shot 3-of-3 from the line.

Sara Karamol led GRCC in rebounds with nine total and added ten points to her rap sheet in her 32 minutes on the court.

Hanna Lahiff contributed 12 points shooting 4-of-14 from the field.

Stephanie Stevens delivered 10 points going 2-of-8 from the field with three assists while allowing eight turnovers.

Owens was led offensively by Kamilah Carter who finished the night with 18 points.  Eboni Adams delivered 17 for the Express with 6 rebounds and five assists.  Paige Wright contributed 11 points with five rebounds and five assists.

GRCC next faces Hope College JV on November 15^th at 5:30PM in front of a home crowd at the Gerald R. Ford Fieldhouse's Hunsburger Arena.
