Grand Rapids, MI—The Raiders will look to regroup on Wednesday, and regain their winning form. Both teams are set to travel to Muskegon to take on the rival Jayhawks. GRCC’s men’s squad are now 8-5 overall on the season, and the women are 3-9.
The lady Raiders are looking at this game as a prime opportunity to regain some confidence. With a 7-10 record on the season, Muskegon is having the same early season struggles as GRCC. Although the Jayhawks have earned 4 more wins during the regular season than the Raiders, the team is yet to earn their first conference victory, a streak that GRCC will look to keep alive.
The men, on the other hand, are sporting a record very similar to GRCC’s. Muskegon’s men’s squad has gone 10-6 overall thus far in regular season competition, and have gone 1-3 in conference play. A loss in the match could send GRCC from 5th in the MCCAA’s Western Conference all the way to last place.
The Raiders are counting on the usual suspects to deliver in this game, but have also called in some reinforcements. New addition Willie Duke, a 6’2 Forward from Ottawa Hills, made his debut last week with the team. Although the team fell to Kellogg in Duke’s debut as a Raider, the team will undoubtedly benefit from a set of fresh legs as they continue to build chemistry.
The Raiders travel to Muskegon on Wednesday. The women take the court first at Muskegon Community College at 5:30 PM and the men follow at 7:30 PM.
