Raiders ready for playoffs

Grand Rapids, MI-- Playoff basketball begins on Tuesday. The Raiders are set to host Kellogg Community College at 7:00 PM at the Hunsberger Arena, a team they've defeated twice this season. The Raiders finished the regular season second place in the MCCAA Western Conference, and have a legitimate shot at a district championship and a spot in the national tournament, where they were jus 2 seasons ago.

When the Raiders met Kellogg CC for the first time this season the Bruins battled hard. The Raiders emerged victorious with an 88-79 victory on the Road. Freshman Micah Gates led the way with 16 points and had 14 boards along the way. Darius Holman shined for Kellogg in the loss, and put up a game high 24 points.

The next time around the Raiders did the hosting. GRCC dominated play from minute one in front of an energetic crowd and walked off with a commanding 88-59 victory. Five Raiders scored in the double digits with sophomore Jared Mysliwiec leading the pack.

The Raiders are 17-9 on the season with a 12-4 record in conference play. The team has gone 7-4 at the Hunsberger Arena this season, and are confident that they can continue to find success at home. The NJCAA District 8 Quarterfinals will begin on Friday at 7:00 PM at the Hunsberger Arena.
