Box Score Kalamazoo, MI-- The #5 ranked Kalamazoo Valley CC Cougars proved to be too much for a heavily depleted GRCC squad. After losing 68-33 the Raiders fall to 8-11 on the season, and have lost their last 4 matches.
Despite the loss, the Raiders were able to slow KVCC's usually high octane offense. Through the first 20 contests of the 2011-12 season the Cougars had posted an average of nearly 80 points per game, but were limited to 68 today.
After playing 6 games over the last 2 weeks the Raiders will get some much needed rest before hosting Kellogg CC this Friday. During the 2 weeks the squad was down to as few as 6 players after losing
Tatiyana Walker for a contest due to suspension and
Destiney Robinson to an ankle injury.
Despite the rough patch the Raiders are experiencing, the girls still sit in 6th place in the MCCAA Western Conference. With a 3-6 record in conference play the team still has a shot at making the playoffs, and will need to put forth some strong efforts down the stretch.
The Raiders take the court next at the Hunsberger Arena on Friday. Stay tuned to GRCCRaiders.com for further coverage.
