Box Score Adrian, MI -- GRCC's women's basketball team fell to the Saints of Seinna Heights Universoty last night 41-65. The loss is the fourth in a row for the Raider squad and leaves them at 2-6 overall and in dead last of the MCCAA West standings prior to the open of conference play.
While GRCC's women's basketball team has managed to keep a majority of their contests competitive going into the half, tonight's contest was an exception. GRCC shot 6-for-28 in the first netting only 16 points to Sienna Heights' 35. In the second, the Raiders upped their scoring, but couldn't undue the damage done in the first half.
Both teams staying in relative proximity of each other having turned over 16 and 15 balls on the night, but Sienna Heights' dominance in the paint afforded them a tremendous advantage and likely earned them the win.
The Raiders were out-rebounded 54-34 and scored 20 points in the paint to the Saints 50.
GRCC was led in scoring by freshman Kayla Rosinski who scored 14points while adding 7 rebounds. The Saints were led by Caylie Boehmer. Boehmer was 5-11 from behind the arc and finished with 17 points.
The have ample time to recover and prepare for their next contest against Delta Community College on December 15th. Delta is 1-3 during this 2012-13 season and in second to last in the MCCAA East.
