Box Score Grand Rapids, MI – Grand Rapids Community College’s men’s basketball team is on a four game winning streak following last night’s 72-67 win of over Aquinas College’s JV Saints team.

The Raiders jumped out to a 9-0 lead before the Saints earned score in the first half.  GRCC continued to dominate holding a lead as much as 15 before the half time in large part due to the Raiders having gone 6-of-10 from behind the arc.

Despite having hot hands in the first half when shooting from the arc, the Raiders were 0-for-11 shooting threes in the second half, and missed their last five shots from that range in the end of the first.

The Raiders Deontae Hudson broke their 0-for-10 scoreless streak in the second with a layup with 12:39 on the clock.

Although short lived, the Raiders gave up their lead to the Saints who took the lead with just over eight minutes to play in the second.

The Saints came within 2 points of the lead with just over a minute to go following an 11-3 run.  Deontae Hudson again came to his team’s rescue going 3-for-4 from the line to help secure the win for the Raiders.

GRCC was led by freshman Kevin Badger   Badger finished with 16 points, 7 assists and 5 rebounds.  Deontae Hudson added 12 points, 9 rebounds and 3 steals.

The Saints were led by Travell Oakes who finished with a double-double of 20 points and 15 rebounds.

The victory keeps the Raiders tied with Ancilla College at 6-2 in the MCCAA West just below Glen Oaks at 8-1 and KVCC at 10-0.

GRCC nexts host Illinois Central Community College on Friday December 14^th at 7:30PM
