Box Score Grand Rapids, MI -- Despite a solid first half showing, GRCC's women's basketball team couldn't keep up with Davenport's Panthers in the second half.
Up 30-28 going into the second half, GRCC showed promise, but the last half belonged solely to DU as they outscored GRCC 47-14 for a cool 75-44 win.
The Raiders were led by freshman
Stephanie Stevens and
Libby Kwiatkowski scoring 10 each. Stevens added 3 assists, 1 steal and 1 rebound in a remarkable 39 minute performance, but turned the ball over 16 times before the contest ended. Kwaitkowski brought down 6 rebounds and added 1 steal before the game's end.
Danielle Harrison led GRCC in rebounding with 10 while adding 7 points.
Alyssa VandenBerge trailed Harrison with 9 board while contributing six points of her own.
The Panthers were led by Sara Clancy and Shaina Johnson. Clancy finished with 13 points and 8 rebounds. Johnson added 16 points to the scoreboard and left the floor with four steals.
The loss is the second in a row for GRCC and leaves them at 2-4 on the year and in 7th in the MCCAA West.
GRCC's hosts the 5-0 Skippers of St. Clair County CC at 5:30PM Thursday, November 29th at GRCC's Ford Fieldhouse.
