Grand Rapids, MI—GRCC’s men’s basketball team improves to 9-5 overall and 4-0 in the MCCAA after an 81-68 win over Muskegon Community College. The Raiders shot 48% to the Jayhawks 34% and out rebounded MCC 57 to 39 giving them quite an edge.
Leading the scoring charge for GRCC were
Jared Mysliwiec and
Micah Gates who both scored 23 points each.
Mysliwiec truly delivered for the Raiders in the second half scoring 20 of his 23 to help bring home the win.
Gates’ outstanding play led to a doube-double with 23 points, 21 rebounds.
Gates also finished the game with 2 steals, 1 block and three assists.
Arik Hesselink had a dominating defensive performance in the post with 11 rebounds—8 defensive—and 3 blocks.
Muskegon was led in scoring by Kulawnie Saunders who finished the night with 16 points. Also performing for the Jayhawks was Matt Stoll who racked up 14 points and 11 rebounds.
The Raiders, now on a 5 game win streak, face Ancilla College on the road this Saturday at 3:00 PM.
