Box Score Grand Rapids, MI—GRCC’s women’s basketball couldn’t get in rhythm losing to Davenport’s JV women’s basketball team 41-72.  The loss leaves the Raiders at 3-3 thus far in the 2011-2012 season.

The Raiders missed their first 18 field goal attempts in last night’s loss and ended the first half going 4-for-27 to the Panthers 13-for-31.  Additionally the Panthers went 10-for-21 from behind the arc helping them surge ahead at the half 41 to 15.

Despite a better second half where the Raiders scored 26 points, they still couldn’t contain the Panthers offensive machine which accounted for 31 second half points.

The Panthers were led by Kristina Gentile who scored 19 points with 10 rebounds and four assists.  Leading the Raiders was Janele Johnson-Ellis who scored 13 points with 4 steals and two rebounds.

The Raiders hope to rebound from the loss this Thursday when they face off against Hope College’s JV team on the road at 5:30 PM.
