Box Score 3 Sept. 5, 2025, GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Grand Rapids Community College's cross country teams turned in strong performances at the GRCC Invitational on Friday at the Gainey Athletic Complex, highlighted by seven personal records and a men's team victory, while the Raider men's soccer team dropped a hard-fought match to Triton College at the Midwest United Complex in Kentwood.

The Raider women's squad finished runner-up out of four complete teams, posting 50 points. St. Mary's claimed the team title with 22 points, while Montcalm Community College placed third (64) and Grace Christian University fourth (107).
A total of 38 runners competed in the women's 5k, with Montcalm's Abby Davis earning the individual win in 19:21. GRCC was led by freshman Mackenzie Baldrica, who ran a personal-best 20:22 for fifth place. Sophomore Gloria Gatson (9th, 20:39) and freshman Suzannah DiPiazza (10th, PR of 21:00) also cracked the top 10. Additional Raider scorers included Leah Williams (14th, PR of 21:32), Vivian Idziak (17th, 21:56), Binti Abdi (25th, PR of 23:42), and Kadie Norman (29th, PR of 23:42).
On the men's side, GRCC earned a team victory with a perfect score of 15 against Cleary University (41). Although Mid Michigan's Drew Moore took the individual 8k title in 27:59, the Raiders placed the next five runners in succession. Sophomore Isaac Skinner was runner-up in 28:04, followed by freshman Corey Jones (3rd, 28:51), freshman Brady Morrow (4th, PR of 29:02), sophomore Nate Fahey (5th, 29:31), and sophomore John DiPiazza (6th, 29:42). Rounding out the team effort were Ralph White (16th, PR of 33:11) and Sam Pugh (20th, 36:07).
Both Raider cross country teams return to action on September 19 at the Lansing Community College Stars Invitational.
Men's Soccer | Box Score
In Kentwood, GRCC men's soccer (1-1) suffered its first setback of the season, falling 2-0 to Triton College (4-0-2). The visitors scored in the 19th minute and again in the 60th to secure the win.
Triton outshot the Raiders 25-9, including an 8-3 edge in shots on goal. GRCC goalkeeper Dylan Hudson, a freshman, played all 90 minutes and recorded six saves. The Raiders will look to bounce back quickly when they travel to Cuyahoga Community College on Saturday, September 6 for a 1:00 p.m. kickoff in Highland Hills, Ohio.
