2025 NJCAA DII All-Americans
Dec. 9, 2025, GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Grand Rapids Community College volleyball standouts Taylor Kik and Vanessa Walker were honored today as NJCAA All-Americans, adding to one of the most decorated seasons in program history.
With today's announcement, GRCC's volleyball program now boasts 18 All-American selections all-time. This is just the second time in program history that two Raiders earned All-American honors in the same season – the last coming in 2010 with Kelsey Cox and Sydney VanMunster. Kik also becomes just the second two-time All-American in program history, joining Kendra DeJonge (2017–18).
The Raiders finished an exceptional 2024 season with a 26-4 record, ranked 13th in the nation, while capturing their 15th conference title, 12th MCCAA championship, and 14th regional crown.
Taylor Kik – Sophomore Outside Hitter
Lowell, Mich. – NorthPointe Christian High School
Kik earned First Team All-American honors for the second straight year, completing one of the most dominant careers in GRCC history. The Northern Conference Player of the Year also collected First Team All-Conference, All-MCCAA, and All-Region distinctions.
She led the Raiders with 394 kills, bringing her career total to 796, and averaged a remarkable 4.12 kills per set while hitting .290. Kik finished with 434.5 points, 24 aces, 258 digs, 26 blocks, and a team-leading .941 reception percentage.
A consistent force both in the MCCAA and nationally, Kik ranked top-6 in the MCCAA in kills per set, total kills, and hitting percentage, while finishing top-10 in the nation for outside hitters in hitting percentage for the second straight year.
Her standout performances included a season-high 26 kills against national runner-up Kansas City at the NJCAA National Tournament and a season-high 21 digs versus Mott CC in regionals.
Vanessa Walker – Freshman Setter / Rightside Hitter
Sparta, Mich. – Northview High School
Walker's outstanding freshman campaign earned her All-Region, All-MCCAA, First Team All-Conference, and the title of Northern Conference Freshman of the Year, culminating in a Third Team All-American recognition.
A versatile, dynamic weapon for the Raiders, Walker tallied 288 points on 225 kills, 39 aces, and 46 blocks. She led the team in digs (259) and ranked second in hitting percentage (.294), assists (408), aces, and kills. Her .294 hitting percentage ranked 4th in the MCCAA and first at her position.
Walker recorded four triple-doubles this season — including two in regionals and another at nationals. Key performances included a season-high 13 kills against Pellissippi State at nationals, along with 31 assists and 18 digs in a standout match against Southwestern Michigan on Oct. 5.
From Head Coach Chip Will
"We are incredibly proud of Taylor and Vanessa. Taylor has been one of the most consistent and dominant outside hitters in the country for two years, and her growth as a leader has elevated our entire program. Vanessa came in and immediately impacted the game in every phase — setting, attacking, defending — in ways you rarely see from a freshman.
Having two All-Americans in the same year is special, and both of these athletes earned every bit of this recognition."
