Grand Rapids, MICH – GRCC's #4 Raider volleyball team earned their 10^th conference win last night beating Kalamazoo Valley in straight sets 28-26, 25-10 and 25-13.  With the win the Raiders improve to 13-1 overall and remain first in in the MCCAA West one game ahead of Muskegon Community College.  The win extended the Raiders conference win streak to 36 matches and 16-2 vs. KVCC since 2009. 

Kendra DeJonge and Hannah Stearns led the Raiders with 10 kills each while Ally German and Kayla Salyer finished with 5 each.  Peyton Helsen finished with 16 digs.  Lauren Helsen finished with 17 assists.  Haley Peters led in service aces with two.

GRCC hosts their Raider Challenge this weekend where the Raiders will take on Macomb and Schoolcraft on the 30^th and Alpena and Oakland on the 1^st of October.

Macomb enters the tournament 6-16 overall while 0-3 in Eastern Conference play.  Schoolcraft is also winless in MCCAA play with a 0-3 conference record and 2-7 overall.  Alpena Community College is winless thus far in 2017 having played six matches total and four in the East.

Oakland Community College is the top team in the MCCAA East at 6-0 with a 13-4 overall record.
