Grand Rapids, MI ā The volleyball season didn't end the way the Raiders would have hoped, but there was a lot to look back on and be proud of. After a 4-9 start, GRCC began to gel as a team, playing together and overcoming adversity. Coach Chip Will preached playing for one another, playing each and every point as if it were the only thing that mattered, to never look ahead and to never take anything for granted. The Raiders responded with a 15 game winning streak, which took the team from the bottom of the MCCAA-W to the top. GRCC finished in second place, advancing to the NJCAA/MCCAA Region XII District E Tournament. The Raiders outlasted Oakland in the first match of the tournament 3-2 (19-25, 25-23, 15-25, 25-22, 15-10). However, the Raiders fell short against the #1 seed, St. Clair County Community College and eventual tournament champion Muskegon CC in the following two matches, ending the Raiders season. Ā GRCC finished the season with a mark of 19-11 (11-3 MCCAA-W).
