Raiders Golf Takes 3rd at Home Invitational; Terry and Lillie Earn Pitcher of the Week Honors

Apr. 14, 2026, GRAND RAPIDS, MI – The Grand Rapids Community College men's golf team delivered a strong performance on its home course Monday, finishing third overall at the GRCC Raider Invitational held at The Mines Golf Club, while Raider standouts Landon Terry (baseball) and Megan Lillie (softball) were each recognized as MCCAA North Pitchers of the Week.

Competing in a field of 11 teams and 73 golfers in the second conference event of the season, the Raiders posted a team score of 315 (+35). While good for third overall, GRCC finished second among MCCAA conference opponents for the second straight week after also placing runner-up at the Glen Oaks Invitational.

Marian University–Ancilla captured the team title in a playoff over Mott Community College after both teams finished at 313 (+13).

Individually, GRCC's Carson Osborn turned in an impressive round of 74 (+4), recording three birdies and finishing tied for first before falling in a playoff to Ancilla's Hunter Zdyb to place second overall.

Trevor Hobbs added a 77 (+7) with one birdie to tie for ninth, while Landon Simpson carded a 78 (+8) with one birdie to finish tied for 14th. Carter Dominowski posted an 80 (+10) with two birdies (t-19th), followed by Theo Oddy (83, t-31st), Lucas VanMaanen (86, t-49th), Brody Cook (87, t-52nd), and Ari Ziska (99, 71st).

In addition to the team's success on the course, GRCC baseball's Landon Terry and softball's Megan Lillie were honored for their outstanding performances in the circle and on the mound.

Terry, a sophomore from Grandville, was dominant in 9.1 innings of work, allowing no runs while striking out 11 and issuing just one walk. His week was highlighted by a seven-inning shutout victory over Lake Michigan College. Terry currently leads the Raiders in wins (4), appearances (8), and ERA (3.13).

Lillie, a freshman from Lowell, continued her remarkable debut season with 14.1 scoreless innings across four appearances. She recorded two complete games, posted a 3-0 record with one save, and struck out 14 batters while walking just one. Lillie leads the team with a perfect 10-0 record and a 1.59 ERA, totaling 52.2 innings pitched with 40 strikeouts while holding opponents to a .211 batting average.

Both Raider teams return to action Tuesday, with baseball hosting Aquinas College for a nine-inning contest and softball traveling to Indiana Tech for a doubleheader. First pitch for both is scheduled for 3 p.m.
