Oct. 25, 2025, GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The 14th-ranked Grand Rapids Community College volleyball team secured at least a share of its 15th conference championship Friday night with a dominant 3-1 victory over visiting Bay College (25-13, 25-13, 20-25, 25-13) inside the Gordon Hunsberger Arena.
With the win, the Raiders improved to 18-2 overall and 11-0 in the conference, extending their win streak to 16 matches while also clinching the #1 overall seed for next month's NJCAA Region XII Tournament hosted by GRCC.
The Raiders were firing on all cylinders offensively, hitting .360 for the match and recording a season-high 12 aces.
In the opening set, GRCC hit an impressive .423 with 14 kills and five aces. Vanessa Walker led the attack early with five kills as the Raiders cruised to a 25-13 win. The second set was even cleaner — GRCC committed no hitting errors, finishing with a .480 attack percentage and five more aces to take a commanding 2-0 lead.
Bay College responded in the third, jumping out to a 7-1 lead that GRCC couldn't quite erase despite narrowing the gap to 14-12. But the Raiders quickly regained control in the fourth, hitting .300 and closing out the match 25-13 on an Allie McGlothlen kill.

GRCC will wrap up conference play at home on Wednesday, October 29, against Muskegon Community College, the second-place team with just one loss. The Raiders swept Muskegon 3-0 earlier this season and will look to claim the outright conference title. The match will also serve as Sophomore Day, honoring the careers of eight Raiders.
