Box Score 1 Sept. 20, 2023, UNIVERSITY CENTER, Mich. – Allyson Seevers scored the lone goal for the Grand Rapids Community College women's soccer team in an 8-1 defeat at Delta College on Wednesday.
Meanwhile back in Grand Rapids, the men's soccer team shutout Calvin University's club team 3-0 in an exhibition match, with goals from Mohamed Tamour, Jordan Marquez and Hani Alturkmani.
In the women's match, Samantha Hunting assisted Seevers on a breakaway goal in the 74th minute to end Delta's shutout streak of three in a row and seven of it's past eight matches.
GRCC's Kaitlyn O'Brien had seven saves in the first half and newcomer Abigail Russell added three saves while playing the final 45 minutes.
GRCC dropped to 5-6 overall and 4-6 in the conference while number three ranked Delta improved to 12-0 overall and 10-0 in the conference.
Both team's return home on Saturday Sept. 23 with the men kicking off first at 1 p.m. against unbeaten Cuyahoga Community College and the women taking on 18th ranked Kellogg Community College.
