Sept. 17, 2023, CALEDONIA, Mich. – The No. 13 ranked Grand Rapids Community College men's soccer team put up record setting numbers after a 10-1 win over Bryant & Stratton College on Sunday, while the women's team was shutout by No. 3 ranked Delta College, 6-0.

GRCC's men's team, now 7-1-1 on the season, set records in goals (10), assists (11) and shots (60).

The Raiders defense - ranked number one in the conference - allowed just two shots on goal, making it four straight matches allowing fewer than five shots on goal.  They also haven't allowed a corner kick in over four matches.

Twelve players earned at least one point, with Jordan Marquez (two goals, one assist), Elijah Maas (three assists) and Yosia Mukanda (three assists) leading the way.

The nation's leading scorer, Mohamed Tamour, scored two goals, as did Chase Laarman.  Xander Fredericksen, Balkeerat Sahota, Cristian Diaz and Alexander Lagazo added the other four goals.

GRCC's women's team held Delta's high scoring offense scoreless for the first 25 minutes of the match before the Pioneer's Macy Kammer scored her first of three goals on the day.

Delta would score two more in the first half and then three in the second.  They improved to 11-0 overall and 9-0 in the conference.  GRCC dropped to 5-5 overall and 4-5 in the conference.

The women's team plays Delta again at their place on Sept. 20 for a 2 p.m. match while the men don't play again until Sept. 23.
