Red Hawks down women's basketball 65-55

Benton Harbor, MICH – Lake Michigan College improved to 17-6 overall and 8-3 in MCCAA West play with a 65-55 win over GRCC's women's team this past weekend as the Red Hawks Jade Mosier went off for 25 points and 15 rebounds to lead her team to victory.

GRCC's Makayla Beld led the charge for GRCC with 15 points and 11 rebounds, but the Raiders came up short falling to 12-11overall while 5-8 in MCCAA West play.  Hallee Breimayer led GRCC in assists with 9. Ashley Bowen finished with 10 points. 

Five teams in the West—Mid-Michigan, Muskegon, Lake Michigan, Ancilla and Lansing—have earned a berth into the NJCAA District G Tournament for a chance to advance to NJCAA DII National Tournament play.  Grand Rapids is now 6th in the West, a half a game ahead of 7th place Jackson with two spots remaining on the District G bracket.

Glen Oaks holds the 8th place in the MCCAA West at 1-10 in conference play while 2.5 games behind Jackson.

GRCC hosts the West's #4 Ancilla College on Wednesday February 21st at 5:30PM.
