Raiders prepare for string of homegames

Grand Rapids, MI-- GRCC will play seven consecutive homegames, three of which will be held this week. The team will take on MCCAA Conference members Kellogg CC, Ancilla College, and Jackson Community College before hosting the Raider Challenge on Saturday and Sunday. All of the matches will be held in the Gordon Hunsberger Arena at the Gerald R. Ford Fieldhouse.

The first game will come against the Kellogg Community College Bruins on Monday at 6:30 PM. The Bruins have a solid 8-3 record, and are coming off of two consecutive wins. The squad is led by Breanna Pelloni, who leads the team with 168 kills.

Next up is Ancilla College. The Chargers have a 5-8 record thus far in the 2011-12 season, and are also coming off of a pair of wins. The team recently defeated non member schools Grace College and IU Kokomo. Leading the team is Kelly Duke, who has earned a 29% hit efficiency rate. The match will be held at 6:30 PM on Tuesday.

Jackson Community College will pay a visit to GRCC on Thursday, and the teams will square off at 6:30 PM. The Jets have a 5-10 record thus far, and Freshmen Kelly Hevelhurst is leading the team with 157 Kills.

During the the 2010 season the Raiders faced off against each team twice. GRCC emerged victorious and walked away undefeated, a feat they hope to repeat this season.
