In January of 2019, Ben become the Sports Information Director at Grand Rapids Community College. Before that, he had been the assistant to the S.I.D. since the fall of 1998.
He worked directly with the basketball teams in his first year while attending GRCC, and within a few years worked with the rest of the athletic teams in some form or another. He has been to nationals with women's tennis a few times, volleyball the last nine times (including their national championship), various football championship games, men's basketball nationals, three baseball World Series', and overall has worked well over 1000 total games.
He started working directly with the softball program during the 1999-2000 season, mainly doing the stats at all of the games. Since the 2005-2006 season, he has been a vital part of the program – going to nearly every game, and in most seasons, every game.
Ben maintains GRCC's athletic history and is responsible for maintaining the grccraiders.com website. He also is in charge of uploading all of the sports statistics into the national website among many other things.
When not working with GRCC's Athletic Department, Ben works full-time as an independent distributor for Bettermade Snack Foods. He lives in Grand Rapids, MI with his wife, Mary, and their children Brady, Callan, Emery and Weston.
