Best Memory from Athletics/Band:
My best memory from athletics was making it to quarterfinals for basketball and getting to see so many people from not only our community but communities around Kent City there to support us. My best memory from band was winning State Finals this year for obvious reasons 
What game, match, contest, race,performance, etc stands out to you the most? Why?
The game that stands out to me the most is when we set the state record for made three pointers (25) against Holton my junior year. We went into the game knowing it was something we wanted to accomplish and we did just that. We worked together to get the girls that were on the ball and let them do the rest.
What have Kent City Athletics/Band taught you about Work Ethic (WE)? Give an example.
Kent City Athletics and Band has taught me that when you work hard for what you want, when you achieve it, it’s much more enjoyable. I think about all the early Saturday morning practices we had for basketball. My team would always talk about how it was too early and that we wished we were still sleeping. However, these practices helped our team grow and helped make us as successful as we were.
Who has had a lasting impact on your life from Kent City Athletics/Band? How?
My teammates will always have a lasting impact on my life. They are the people that I spent most of my time with. They were with me through all the good and bad times and I’ve shared a lot of laughs and memories with them.
Another person that will have a lasting impact on my life is Aleah Holcomb, my junior varsity basketball coach. Aleah encouraged me to take the next step and go play on varsity my sophomore year when I didn’t really want to. Without her encouragement, my basketball career would look very different than it does now.
Why should kids get involved in athletics/band while in high school?
I think kids should get involved in athletics and band while in high school because it makes your high school career much more enjoyable. You meet and become friends with people you probably wouldn’t even talk to if you didn’t participate in these activities. These activities also teach you many life lessons that are important to develop like time management and how to work with others which is another reason to get involved.
