Tom Grant

Tom Grant enters first season with Grand Rapids Community College as the pitching coach this year. Currently Tom serves as a director of the Student-Athlete Academic Support Program at GRCC. Tom spent the past two years at Western Michigan University as a volunteer assistant coach where he worked mainly with the pitchers. While at Western Michigan, Tom also obtained a Master’s Degree in business administration with an emphasis in sports management.

Tom started his playing career at Jenison High School. Following Jenison, Tom was offered and accepted a scholarship to play baseball at Michigan State University. After one year at MSU, Tom transferred to Grand Rapids Community College where he was a part of the 2004 National Championship team. After one year at GRCC, Tom was offered and accepted a scholarship to play at Brevard College in North Carolina. While at Brevard, Tom was honored with defensive player of the year, All-Conference Pitcher, and Brevard Athlete of the Year. While finishing up his degree, Tom started his coaching career as the pitching coach at Brevard College. After his time at Brevard College, Tom went overseas to play and coach in Perth, Australia. Tom is now back with the Raiders as the pitching coach and back in school earning his second Masters Degree in Education and Literacy at Grand Valley State University.
