Coach Cap Pohlman enters his first year as an Assistant Coach at Grand Rapids Community College after serving the last three years as Associate Head Coach at Aquinas College.  

Pohlman was born and raised in Saginaw, Michigan where he threw seven no-hitters for his high school team.  After being recruited to Central Michigan University, he was drafted by the Milwaukee Brewers.  His highlights at CMU included participating in the College World Series, throwing a no-hitter against South Carolina and defeating Iowa, the Big Ten Champ in the N.C.A.A. Regionals.
 
After an arm injury ending his playing career, Coach Pohlman went into coaching, spending his first years as Head Coach at Chesaning High School.  His teams won seven league championships.  He then moved on to Pitching Coach at Miami University in which four of his players were drafted.  After Miami, he coached at Fruitport High School in which his teams won the league three of his four years as coach.  He then spent 17 years as Head Coach at Muskegon Community College in which he won over 500 games and the only two baseball conference championships in school history.
 
His wife of 45 years (Deb) has been his steadying influence.  They have two children; Karli and her husband Jason, and Carey and his wife Cara.  They also have four grand children; Karina, Jackson, Paxton, and Carver.
