The Raiders were NJCAA Division I between 1958 and 1992 and Division II from 1993 to present. They are also a member of the Michigan Community College Athletic Association (formerly the MCJCAC) and Region XII.
The MCCAA began crowning champions in 1960. From 1960-1969 there was just one conference and in 1970 the conference split into a Western, an Eastern and a Central division. The Central division lasted until 1977. From 1997-2016 there was only one MCCAA Conference again before going back to a Western and Eastern division in 2017. In 2023, the MCCAA split into three divisions again, adding a Northern division which GRCC became a member of.
In 2020 the season was canceled due to COVID-19. There was also no MCCAA Champion from 1978-1996 as well as 2020, 2024 and 2025. Here's a list of all the
PAST CHAMPIONS.
Since 1968, GRCC has won three Northern Conference Championships, 15 Western Conference Championships, 17 MCCAA Championships, 20 Regional Championships and 5 National Championships. They have been to the World Series 16 times, including a Division II record 11 times, winning the title in '96, '97, '03, '04 and '05.
Legendary Head Coach, Tom Hofmann, who in 25 years (1966-1990) led his teams to almost 700 wins and five national tournament appearances, including a third place finish in 1977 was inducted into the NJCAA Baseball Coaches Association Hall of Fame in 1993.
