Nov. 22, 2025, GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Grand Rapids Community College men's basketball team suffered its first loss of the season on Saturday, falling 103–88 on the road to 11th-ranked Henry Ford College. The Raiders now stand at 5–1, while the unbeaten Hawks improve to 3–0.
GRCC controlled the action early, leading for much of the first seven minutes. But after Henry Ford inched ahead 17–16, the Hawks seized the momentum and never looked back. Their interior dominance proved to be the difference, as Henry Ford poured in 70 points in the paint compared to GRCC's 44, and stretched the lead to as many as 27 in the second half.
Despite the loss, the Raiders received strong contributions from their bench, outscoring HFC's reserves 37–23. Sophomore guard McRecco McFadden led the charge, delivering a season-high 16 points on an efficient 7-of-11 shooting performance. McFadden's play landed him on the All-Showcase Team.
Four other Raiders reached double figures as well.
- EJ Bowman filled the stat sheet with 13 points, a team-high seven assists, and three steals.
- Gaden Muxlow added 12 points, shooting 4-of-6 from the floor and 3-of-5 from beyond the arc.
- Tyran Thomas contributed 10 points, pulled down a team-leading nine rebounds, and added two steals.
- Jared Demoff posted a balanced line of 10 points, six rebounds, and a season-high five assists.
GRCC will look to bounce back quickly as they return to action on Monday, November 24, traveling to Kirtland Community College for a 7:30 p.m. tipoff, following the conclusion of the women's game.
