Nov. 15, 2025, SUMMIT TWP, MICH. – The Grand Rapids Community College men's basketball team continued its undefeated start to the season on Wednesday night, grinding out a high-scoring 110-104 road victory over Jackson College. The win moves the Raiders to 4-0 on the year.
Jackson came out strong, leading by as many as nine points twice in the first half. After the Jets went up 40-31 with 5:07 remaining, GRCC responded with a crucial 10-0 run, capped by a Tyran Thomas three-pointer that pushed the Raiders ahead 41-40. The teams traded the lead seven times over the next three minutes before Jackson edged out a 52-51 halftime lead.
Early in the second half, with the score tied at 57, Zeek Jackson buried a three-pointer to give GRCC a 60-57 advantage. The Raiders held that lead for the next eight minutes until Jackson briefly reclaimed momentum at 80-79. But GRCC's leading scorer, Jared Demoff, answered with a clutch triple to put the Raiders up 86-83 at the 8:17 mark — a lead they would never relinquish.
The Raiders pushed the margin to 10 with 3:14 remaining, but Jackson refused to go away, trimming the deficit to two in the final seconds. GRCC sealed the game at the line behind pressure-packed free throws from Demoff and EJ Bowman.
GRCC dominated the glass with a 50-38 rebounding advantage and shot 79% at the free-throw line, compared to Jackson's 67%.
