VOLLEYBALL FINAL CONFERENCE STANDINGS
REGIONALS BRACKET
Oct. 26, 2024, GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. -- The No. 12 ranked Grand Rapids Community College volleyball team capped off its seventh perfect conference season after sweeping Bay College on Saturday, 25-16, 25-16, 25-19.
The Raiders (19-2, 12-0) who had already won its 14th conference title on Tuesday, and clinched a No. 1 seed in regionals, was led by
Lillian Peterson who hit a career best .750. GRCC as a team hit .358, which was the second best of the season.
Peterson had 12 kills on 16 attempts (with no errors) in basically two sets because she only played a few points in the second set. The sophomore middle has been on a tear lately, hitting over .440 in six of the past eight matches.
Taylor Kik finished with eight kills, Lizzie MacIntosh had six and Ava Schultz added four.
Defensively the Raiders were led by sophomore libero
Sylvia Peterson who had eight digs and 16 receptions.
Freshman setter
Sami Baker led the team in assists for the second match in a row with 11.
On Nov. 2, the two hottest teams in the league will face off in the semi-finals of the MCCAA Tournament. GRCC (winners of 17 in row) will take on Mott (winners of 18 in a row) at noon with the winner taking on Lansing CC for the championship at 2 pm.
