Oct. 24, 2024, GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. -- The Grand Rapids Community College men's soccer team finished of its regular season with a 0-0 draw to Mineral Area College on Wednesday.
The Raiders (8-5-4), who dressed just 13 players, played one of its best defensive games of the season, shutting out the 13th ranked team in the country. Mineral Area (11-4-2) had just beat national powerhouse Schoolcraft one day previous.
It was the seventh time this season the Raiders have held its opponent scoreless.
Fabian Rodriguez earned his second straight victory in goal with five saves.
GRCC will now prepare for the NJCAA Region XII Tournament, where they finished runner-up last year. They will take on St. Clair County, the host school, at 1:30 pm on Nov. 2. Should they win that, they will play for a regional title on Nov. 3 at noon.
