CROSS COUNTRY RESULTS
Nov. 11, 2023, PETOSKEY, Mich. – Avery Jirous led the Grand Rapids Community College women's basketball team to it's third straight victory after defeating Cuyahoga Community College 49-42 on Saturday.
The men's basketball didn't fare as well, losing to Tri-C 95-82, to fall to 3-3 on the season.
Meanwhile in Huntsville, AL, the 2023 cross country teams completed their seasons after solid performances at the NJCAA DII National Championships.
Jirous had her first career double-double with 13 points and 10 steals, while also grabbing five rebounds and dishing out four assists in the women's team victory.
GRCC lead wire-to-wire improving to 3-1 on the season.
Aaliyah Ratliff, who scored 31 in Friday's game, dropped in 14 more on Saturday.
GRCC's men's basketball team was led by Joe Francis who scored 20 points and five rebounds. Tristan McRoberts added 17 points (7-11 FG) and seven rebounds.
Down in Alabama, Anna Tubbergen set a personal record of 19:39 at nationals in route to a top-25 finish. Teammate Elicia Land also ran a PR of 20:17 to finish in 55th out of 279 runners.
Sophomore, Dan Kehoe, led the Raider's men's team to a 25th place out of 38 teams. His time of 27:47 placed him 101st out of 289 runners.
Austin Winkle, 28:07; Anthony Lawlor, 29:12; Quinton Dixon, 31:38; and Issac DeLeon, 34:49 (PR) rounded out the Raider runners.
