Box Score Oct. 3, 2023, GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Braelyn Berry set a career-high in kills to help the Grand Rapids Community College volleyball team win its 15th match in a row after a 3-1 victory over Delta College on Tuesday.
GRCC, ranked No. 10 in the latest NJCAA Division II poll, came out firing on all cylinders taking the first set easily 25-15, while hitting .390. But, the visitors from Delta held the Raiders to just a .079 hitting percentage to take set two 25-18.
After a back and forth third set that GRCC prevailed 25-22, the Raiders rolled to a 25-17 win in the fourth set to take the match.
Berry had a career-high 17 kills, while adding 17 digs and zero reception errors. GRCC as a team only had two reception errors in 73 chances.
Lizzie MacIntosh, who was just named the conference offensive player of the week, came out on fire with 11 digs and five kills in the first set. She finished with 12 kills, a match-high 20 digs and a match-high four aces.
The Raiders, now 17-3 overall and 7-0 in the conference, travel to Alpena Community College and Bay College this Friday for two more conference matches.
