Cedar Rapids, IA – On Friday afternoon, Grand Rapids CC got a call that they would be advancing to the NJCAA DII Volleyball National Tournament after Muskegon not being able to attend. The Raiders, after thinking their season was done, was back in action and would be competing for a national title. The Raiders took over Muskegon's seed (9
th) and took on the 8
th seed Gulf Coast State in the first round. The Raiders were swept 10-25, 16-25, 23-25.
Sophomore
Annie Holesinger led the way for the Raiders with 10 kills, followed by
Kylie Oberlin with 7. Holesinger and sophomore
Gabi Kitley recorded 3 blocks a piece. Sophomore setter
Kailey Carmean recorded 19 assists, 4 kills and a team high 10 digs. Freshman
Audrey Gower also had 10 digs to go along with 5 assists.
The Raiders will play tomorrow at 12:00 PM CT/1PM EST against the #16 seed Potomac state.
