Pepper Pike, OH-- The GRCC women's basketball team is headed to the NJCAA DII National tournament after upsetting the #1 seed, Bryant and Stratton in the finals of the NJCAA DII District C Tournament. Bryant and Stratton took the #1 seed after winning the Ohio Community College Athletic Conference with a 5-1 Conference record, and an overall record of 8-3. The Raiders came in as the 2 seed as they finished the MCCAA Western Conference in 2nd place, with a record of 6-2. This is the first national tournament the Raiders have qualified for since 1974, and the first ever NJCAA National Championship appearance.
Sophomore,
Eurasia Green-Boyd led the Raiders with 18 points, which included four 3 pointers. Sophomore
Jayla Bibbs, who currently ranks 3rd nationally in rebounds followed with another double-double, 16 points, 20 rebounds and 4 steals. Sophomore
Shonyah Hawkins had 12 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists and 3 steals. The Raiders out rebounded the Bobcats 61-39, including 29 offensively.Â

In addition to the selection show on Monday, the MCCAA and Region XII will release all the regular season awards, including All-Region, All-MCCAA, All-Conference, All-Freshman teams, All-Defensive teams and the coaches of the year.
