GRCC Baseball Heads off to Florida to Open the 2018 Season

GRCC baseball will open the season on March 2, 2018. GRCC will travel to Florida for a week-long trip which will feature seven games in Florida, and one game in Alabama. The team will have a two-day trip in Marianna, Florida for a double header on March 2 against Wallace-Dothan followed by Chipola College. The following day, the team will face Chipola College once more. They will then take a two-day trip to Tallahassee to face Tallahassee Community College, before taking a one-day trip to Alabama to play Wallace Community College-Dothan. The last two days of the Florida trip will be on March 7 and March 8, against Northwest Florida State College.

This season's team is coached by Mike Cupples who is in his 13th season as the Head coach for the Raiders. Mike Eddington is serving his 5th year as assistant coach for the Raiders. Mark Rasmussen will be serving his 1st year as pitching coach.

The team is excited to begin the 2018 baseball season. This year's team features 13 sophomore players, in which 11 of the players are returners from last years' team. The team experienced success last season as they finished with a (17-6) MCCAA conference record, and they hope to have an even better season during the 2018 campaign.

The teams first home game will be on March 20, 2018 at 2pm against Mott Community College at Belknap Park.
