Box Score Grand Rapids, Mich – GRCC's Raider volleyball team is off to a 1-0 start to the season following a 3-0 win over Glen Oaks Community College.

The Raiders were led by sophomore setter Lauren Helsen who finished the night with 29 assists, 5 digs, 3 aces and 6 kills on 9 attempts for a cool .667 hitting percentage.

Jenna Smaby led the Raiders offensively with 10 kills, 9 digs and three aces though teammates Lena Thompson and Ally German each nearly reached double digit kills with 9 and 8, respectively.

Peyton Helsen's 18 digs were the Raider's high number on the night.  Peyton also recorded one kill on one attempt.

Hannah Stearns led the Raiders in blocks with 1 solo and 3 assists.

GRCC visits an untested Lansing Community College for a 6:30PM match tonight hoping to remain undefeated in their 2017 campaign.
