Box Score 4 Texas TWP, MICH – GRCC's baseball team won two and lost two against Kalamazoo Valley's Cougars picking up a pair of wins 4-0 and 10-7 at home then losing 7-8 and 3-6 on the road. The Raiders are now 6-2 in MCCAA play and third overall behind first place Kellogg and second place KVCC.
Sam Traver took the mound at Davenport and earned his third win of the season in the first of four games pitching 7 innings allowing five hits with no runs while striking out 12.
KVCC's Dakota Roberts took the loss for the Cougars allowing 11 hits and 4 runs while walking 2 and striking out 3.
Shane Fugate finished 2-for-3 with one run scored.
Jacob Augustyn hit 1-for-4 with two RBI. Austin Anderson was 1-for-1 with one walk and one run scored.
Adrian Regueiro went a 3-for-3 with a run scored.
Alec Overbeek got the scoring started in the fourth inning of game two with a two-run shot to right-center to put the Raiders up 2-0. Kalamazoo poured on some runs in the 5
th and 6
th to take a 7-2 lead, but the Raiders fired right back in the sixth with
Brian Cappiello leading off the charge with a double to left scoring
Dalton Phillips.

Dalton Phillips hit 2-of-4 with two runs and one RBI.
Matt Milstead finished the game batting 1-for-3 with one walk and one RBI.
Josh Robbins went 2-for-3 while scoring two runs and one RBI with one strikeout. Alec Overbeek finished the day hitting 2-of-3 with 4 RBI and two runs scored.
On Sunday the Raiders couldn't hold off the cougars taking two losses 7-8 and 3-6. In the first game GRCC held a healthy lead for much of the game, but KVCC rallied in the 7
th to tie the game up at 6-6. A Dalton Phillps double scored
Jacob Augustyn in the 8
th to give the Raiders the 7-6 lead, but KVCC tied it up with a fly out in the 8
th and then took the win with a RBI single in the 9
th.
Jacob Augustyn finished the game batting 2-for-4 with a double, a triple and walk with three runs scored. Dalton Phillips went 2-for-5—both doubles—with two RBI one run scored and one strikeout. Matt Milstead went 4-for-5 with 2 runs scored.
Bruce Buurstra started the game for the Raiders pitching 6 innings allowing 6 hits and 3 earned runs while walking 3 and striking out five.
Seth Stephens earned his first loss of the season pitching 2.1 innings allowing 5 hits with two earned runs and one strikeout.
KVCC's Justyn Schoening earned the win after two innings on the mound allowing just two hits with no earned runs.
In their last game of the weekend the Raiders' bats cooled off as the team recorded just 5 hits with
Jacob Stranz leading the charge at 2-for-3 with an RBI and 1 run scored.
Austin Anderson's single scored two RBI—the team high for the game—as Anderson finished 1-for-3.
KVCC's Brock Emery earned the win pitching 7 innings while allowing five hits and three earned runs with two strikeouts. GRCC's
Sam Cunningham took this third loss on the year, now 1-3, after allowing 7 hits, two earned runs, two walks and six strikeouts.
The Raiders will visit 8-0 Jackson College on Tuesday for a doubleheader at 2:00PM before heading home on Friday the 7
th to host Ancilla College.
