Box Score Grand Rapids, MI. -- Jeffrey Drake-Todd's near triple double helps lead GRCC past KVCC on Friday night (2/24) at the Ford Fieldhouse 97-84.
Jeffrey Drake-Todd (East Kentwood High School) was just shy of a triple. He led the Raiders with 34 points, 10 assists, and eight rebounds.
Sophomore Center, A.J. Whittaker (Leland High School) recorded a double-double on the night, finishing with 10 points and 10 rebounds. Freshman Corey Jones (Ottawa Hills) chipped in 14 points and eight rebounds and Freshman Zachary Pangborn (Northview) added 15 points.
The score was tight in the first half, but the Raiders started to stretch the lead in the second half.
"I told them at halftime to come out with positive energy and we made two adjustments," said head coach Luke Bronkema. "One of them was to force 43(Mike Dyson) to his left hand...The second was to get back on defense and play solid (defense)."
The Raiders shot 47 percent from the field and 32 percent from the three point line.
"We have to play one game at a time, have positive energy, and continue to play as a team," said Bronkema.
The next game for the Raiders is Monday, February 27 on the road at Mid-Michigan Community College at 7:30 pm.
